Over 50 years of media production, vinyl pressing and packaging, mastering and manufacturing expertise is applied to expertly facilitate the production of your vinyl pressing project. Record pressing requires the unique expertise of optimizing your sounds for the analog format of vinyl records. The digital world has dominated the music industry since the mid-1980’s. Digital music parameters are different than what is required for vinyl. We find that digital music files usually need to be altered and optimized for vinyl. The peaks and valleys inside a record groove that are amplified and processed into the “full vinyl sound” have certain physical limitations. Unless the sounds are processed properly, objectional skips pops, or sound quality degradation may happen in the pressed record. Our mastering expertise optimizes your music files to achieve the depth and accuracy of the analog sound. Our studio can “cut” an acetate reference disc for your approval--prior to the final preparation of the lacquer. We then protect your “approved sound” by cutting the lacquers on a scully lathe in our affiliated studio. When we are satisfied with the quality, the lacquers are sent to the pressing plant. The plant then applies their unique expertise to the metalizing process, preparation of the stampers, and to the subsequent test pressings-- that will be supplied for your approval. We also critically listen to the test pressings and approve or reject—before delivery for your approval. While the record pressing process is being accomplished by our experienced pressing plant, we provide the production control to ensure that all your components are printed and available when needed. During the pressing and assembly process many quality control tests are performed to insure the highest quality finished record package.
